PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for predicting a compressive permanent distortion rate, with which it is possible to estimate a life based on the seal performance of a sealing material as is in an assembled state without stopping the whole of a facility and dismantling the facility.SOLUTION: The method for predicting a compressive permanent distortion rate in an embodiment of the invention predicts the compressive permanent distortion rate of a rubber sealing material, the compressive permanent distortion rate (Cs) of the sealing material being calculated by expression (1):Cs=f(Tc,t) (in expression (1), Tc is the working temperature of the sealing material, and t is the use time of the sealing material at Tc).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
