PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method of a separation membrane of a membrane separation apparatus which can clean a separation membrane sufficiently.SOLUTION: A cleaning method of a separation membrane 9 of a membrane separation apparatus 6 includes: a first cleaning process of supplying acid 31 as a first chemical from a secondary side of the separation membrane 9, cleaning the separation membrane 9, and discharging and collecting a waste liquid 31a of the first chemical after the separation membrane is cleaned from the membrane separation apparatus 6; and a second cleaning process of mixing the waste liquid 31a of the first chemical collected in the first cleaning process with a sodium hypochlorite solution 33 to make a second chemical 57, supplying the second chemical 57 from the secondary side of the separation membrane 9, and cleaning the separation membrane 9.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
