PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a type discrimination device with which it is possible to discriminate the type of object to be discriminated without changing the configuration of a discrimination circuit depending on the type of object to be discriminated, and without installing a discrimination circuit in the object to be discriminated.SOLUTION: A battery type discrimination device 1 comprises a circuit 100 for discrimination, an output circuit 11, and a type discrimination circuit 12. The output circuit 11 is configured so that its output is differentiated by a manner in which the circuit 100 for discrimination is connected. The type discrimination circuit 12 discriminates the type of battery B on the basis of the output of the output circuit 11, and outputs a signal that corresponds to the discrimination result. Wiring is made in the battery B so that a manner in which the circuit 100 for discrimination and the output circuit 11 are connected is differentiated depending on the type of battery B. Therefore, it is possible to discriminate the type of battery B without changing the configuration of the circuit 100 for discrimination depending on the type of battery B and without installing the circuit 100 for discrimination in the battery B.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
