PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component selection support system and a component selection support method, enabling easy selection of components needed to configure a circuit used for an IC.SOLUTION: A component selection support system 10 includes: (a) a circuit database 27 storing, as a pair, an IC model number, and a model number and the number of components needed to configure a circuit used for an IC of the IC model number; (b) an IC model number input reception part 22 receiving input of the IC model number; (c) a component retrieval part 23 retrieving the circuit database 27, and extracting the component model number and the number of the components stored in the pair with the IC model number that the IC model number input reception part 22 has received the input; and (d) a component list data output part 25 outputting data for creating a component list including the component model number and the number of the components needed to configure the circuit used for the IC of the IC model number on the basis of the component model number and the number of the components extracted by the component retrieval part 23.
