Method for determining the level of a polycyclic Compound of interest present in the surface of Tobacco LeafThat includes the following steps: (a) wash the surface of Tobacco leaf with a Solvent, wherein the Solvent comprises at least a nonpolar Solvent,So that no more than about 10% by weight of the polycyclic Compound of interest present in the surface of Tobacco Leaf was removed from the surface of Tobacco Leaf; (b) recoleCTAR Solvent of Step (a); and (c) subjecting the Solvent collected a fluorescence Spectroscopy to determine the level of the polycyclic compound interest.
