The present invention relates to the steel processing line which includes a dip bowl and a punch roller. The soaking vat is filled with a quantity of molten metal. At least part of the punch roller is submerged in the amount of molten metal. The punch roller includes two trunnions. each trunnion is received by an opening defined by a roller sleeve including a ceramic or refractory material. The roller sleeve is disposed between each trunnion and a bearing block. an inner dimension of each roller sleeve and an outer dimension of each trunnion define a clearance. The inner dimension of each roller sleeve and the outer dimension of each respective sleeve are configured such that the clearance persists as the punch roller and the pair of roller sleeves are heated by the molten metal. alternatively, the inserts are attached to an outer surface of each trunnion instead of the roller sleeves.
