When mechanically producing an electrochemically active SRIMOCA structure with sharp ridges on the surface of a compact carbon material, the structure is formed by removing material from the surface of the compact carbon material body (1) on a support (4) with a firmly anchored cutting tool (5) of a hard material, (5) and the surfaces of the body (1) move transitionally to one another. The SRIMOCA structure is mainly used in biophysics and biochemistry for electrochemical investigation of biomolecules and biopolymers, electrochemical analysis of the physiological processes of organisms, medical diagnostics using electrochemical methods and in other electroactive chemical processes.
