The invention relates to medicine, namely to functional diagnostics. The efficiency of detection of markers of electroencephalographic signals for the diagnosis of borderline mental disorders is determined by the accuracy of measuring its amplitude and time, frequency and energy parameters, the reliability of detection and recognition of its individual elements. The work of the proposed method consists in recording electroencephalographic signals, extracting informative signal sections, calculating the spectral power, calculating the difference in amplitude-time characteristics, decomposing the signal using the Hilbert-Huang transform, calculating the statistical emission function, calculating local maxima, comparing local maxima with a threshold value, statement of the diagnostic conclusion.
