The invention relates to the oil industry, in particular to methods for isolating water inflows in a well. The objective of the invention is to increase oil production as a result of the isolation of high permeability zones and involvement in the development of low permeability oil zones of the reservoir by using organic waste products. The problem is solved in that in the method of limiting water inflow into the well, which includes injecting an aqueous solution of sodium silicate into the well, before adding an aqueous solution of sodium silicate, whey (MS) is added to it, while the concentration of sodium silicate and whey is controlled depending on the temperature at a given bottomhole formation depth and the time required for gelation. Before injection of an aqueous solution of sodium silicate with the addition of whey into the bottomhole formation zone, a rim of fresh or softened sea or formation water is injected.
