The invention relates to a size composition for the foundry industry for use in the foundry, in particular comprising certain organic ester compounds of a formula (I) and particulate, amorphous silicon dioxide (SiO2); and sized foundry molded articles, in particular foundry molds and/or foundry cores, each of which comprise a size composition according to the invention. The invention further relates to the use of a size composition according to the invention in order to produce a covering on a foundry molded article and to a method for producing a foundry molded article sized by means of an aqueous size. The invention further relates to a kit, containing, inter alia, a size composition according to the invention.
