The present disclosure is related to a tortilla-making machine with an infrared lighting system, which is generally formed by a head section and a cooking section. The head section comprises a container hopper that receives nixtamalized corn dough; a cornball dough-forming (uncooked tortilla) section; and a distribution means for the cornball dough. The cooking section is formed by a cooking oven comprising a metal structure operatively connected to the head section; a plurality of cooking tunnels is formed by a metal tray comprising a plurality of infrared heat generating lamps. In addition, a metal cooking band/skillet that has the double function of transporting the cornball dough received from the head section and cooking them to obtain tortillas; a guard or cover covering said metal cooking band/skillet to encapsulate it. A tortilla dispensing mechanism connected to the plurality of cooking tunnels. Each of the metal cooking bands/skillets is adjacent to the metal tray to receive the infrared radiation generated by the plurality of infrared heat generating lamps, which are ignited by means of an electric spark.
