The purpose of the notification is to obtain an extract from Cochlospermum angolensis (Borututu) by treating the contaminated plant substance Borututu with chloroform, preferably twice, each time for 12 -72 hours preferably 48 hours, using favourable quantities first 1:20, then 1:10,after which the chloroform macerat e or the combined macerates evaporate at a temperature not exceeding 40oC and the dry residue (SP) is mixed with silicon gel in a weight ratio of 1:1 to 1:100 favourable 1:10 and further extracted in the liquid /solid system p ris the use of hexane or ethyl acetate and /or a mixture of them favourably in proportion 1:1, after eluent evaporation, a fraction with a high anti -cancer activity is obtained. An extract of Cochlospermum angolense Welw is also included. ex Olive. Son. Maximilianea angolensis (Welw). ex Oliv.),obtained by two -stage extraction: maceration with chloroform and extraction with hexane or ethyl acetate and /or a mixture thereof (Ex2) and use of the extract in the treatment of marrow.
