The histamine electropolymerized-molecularly imprinted polymer sensor is a sensor comprised of a polymer film deposited on gold slide, containing binding sites for histamine, which can be used for detection. The gold slide is 12 x 20 mm in size, with the polymer film covering almost _ of the slide. The polymer film is made from functionalized terthiophene and has a visible orange color. Approximately 70 æL of sample is required an incubation time of 30 minutes must be allotted to ensure maximum binding of histamine to the polymer film. The sensor can then determine the amount of histamine present in the sample through surface plasmon resonance (SPR) spectroscopy.
