Oral dosage forms that include an antiplatelet agent and an acid inhibitor

Use of an adenosine diphosphate antagonist (ADP) or P2Y12 antagonist and a proton pump inhibitor (IBP) for the manufacture of a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of a patient with a gastrointestinal (GI) disorder associated with an antagonist of ADP or P2Y12 in a patient, in which it is not known that said patient has a GI disorder, in which the pharmaceutical composition is an individual oral unit dosage form comprising: (a) a therapeutically effective amount of an antagonist of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) or P2Y12 antagonist to inhibit platelet aggregation, wherein said ADP or P2Y12 antagonist is clopidogrel or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate, hydrate, enantiomer or polymorph thereof; and (b) a therapeutically effective amount of an PPI to prevent a GI disorder associated with said ADP or P2Y12 antagonist, wherein said PPI is omeprazole or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, enantiomer or polymorph thereof; in which the IBP is enteric coated; and in which the individual oral unit dosage form does not include a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) other than aspirin.
