SHEAROGRAPHY FOR SUB MICROCELLULAR SUBSTRATE NONDESTRUCTIVE INSPECTION

Provided is a method and system for dynamic shearographic inspection. Thedynamicshearographic method allows nondestructive inspection of layered materials, inparticular,those including a porous material. The method uses a load profile thatincreases anddecreases the load, for example in a saw-tooth manner, without decreasing theload backdown to the initial loading state, usually zero loading. Using the loadprofile in this mannerconstantly refreshes the reference speckle images to minimize background noiseand allowsdefects to be distinguished from the noise.
