At least some aspects of the present disclosure direct to a mold insert used in an injection mold having a receiving surface. The mold insert comprises a plurality of layers additively formed by an insert material to comprise a molding surface, an insert body, and an insert surface in conformation with at least a portion of the receiving surface. The molding surface is a surface of the insert body and the insert surface is a surface of the insert body. The molding surface and the insert body comprise a molding structure in conformation with a surface of an apparatus to be made using the injection mold.
