A method for controlling an infusion notification robot. The method comprises: the infusion notification robot receiving an electronic prescription of a patient sent by a hospital information system (S10); the infusion notification robot moving, according to hospital room information on the electronic prescription of the patient, to the hospital room of the patient and giving the patient an infusion (S11); controlling an infrared light emitter of an infrared detection device in the infusion notification robot to produce infrared light, and to shine the infrared light onto a drip tube (S12); acquiring a reception signal in every infrared receiver on the infrared detection device in the infusion notification robot (S13); sending notification information to a nursing client if there has been no intermittent fluctuation of the reception signal in every infrared receiver within a preset time period (S14). The invention further discloses an infusion notification robot control system corresponding to the control method. The infusion notification robot automatically moves to the hospital room of a patient and sends notification information to a nursing client a timely manner following an infusion.
