The present invention relates to a white colored light emitting graphene quantum dot composition for fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) mediated biosensing and a production method thereof. According to the present invention, the white colored light emitting graphene quantum dot emits white colored light with only a single material and has a graphene structure, thereby having superior optical adjusting properties, insignificant cytotoxicity and excellent light stability. The white colored light emitting graphene quantum dot is produced by a pyrolysis method such that the white colored light emitting graphene quantum dot has an advantage of being easily produced at low production costs compared to a conventional production method. Further, the white colored light emitting graphene quantum dot and the white colored light emitting graphene quantum dot coated with manganese dioxide of the present invention have advantages of excellent biological stability and cell membrane permeability since the graphene quantum dots have negative surface charges and an average particle diameter of 20 nm. The white colored light emitting graphene quantum dot coated with manganese dioxide of the present invention is coated with manganese dioxide which is reduced by hydrogen peroxide or glutathione to give a FRET mediated quenching effect. Therefore, the white colored light emitting graphene quantum dot coated with manganese dioxide has effects of sensing hydrogen peroxide or glutathione existing in a biological sample or calculating concentration values of hydrogen peroxide or glutathione. Manganese dioxide is not reduced by protein, polysaccharide, amino acid and the like existing in living organisms, but is reduced only by hydrogen peroxide or glutathione such that the manganese dioxide selectively emits fluorescence to hydrogen peroxide or glutathione existing in the biological sample. Since a composition comprising the white colored light emitting graphene quantum dot coated with manganese dioxide of the present invention is produced at low costs and has excellent selectivity compared to a conventional method of detecting hydrogen peroxide or glutathione by labels, the composition is expected to be used as a next generation composition for detecting hydrogen peroxide or glutathione which can replace a conventional composition.
