Disclosed are a griddle apparatus with a structure improved to uniformly heat a cooking plate and a cooking appliance including the same. According to the present invention, the griddle apparatus comprises: a housing having a reception space formed therein and having an opened upper part; a heating plate having a predetermined width and length, and mounted on the upper part of the housing to place one longitudinal side to the front side of the having and place the other longitudinal side to the rear side of the housing; a burner having a length extended in the longitudinal direction of the heating plate and installed in the housing to be disposed in the lower part of the heating plate; and an exhaust vent unit having a passage to discharge combustion gas generated by combustion in the burner inside the housing to the outside of the housing. The exhaust vent unit is disposed on the rear side of the housing adjacent to the other longitudinal side of the heating plate, and one longitudinal side of the burner adjacent to the one longitudinal side of the heating plate is disposed to a closer position to the heating plate than the other longitudinal side of the burner adjacent to the exhaust vent unit.
