AB6 family designer ligand of TGF-beta superfamily

Non-naturally occurring chimeric polypeptides with activity provided by TGF-beta family members are disclosed. A chimeric polypeptide of one embodiment comprises two or more domains or fragments from an operably linked parent TGF-beta protein, such that the polypeptide has the ability to modify the pathway associated with the TGF-beta family member. In one embodiment, the path is a SMAD or DAXX path.
