The present invention provides a linear regression-based correction method for minimizing a distance measurement error by VCO nonlinearity, and an FMCW radar using the same. An embodiment of the present invention provides the radar, including: a transceiving module provided with a VCO, generating and transmitting a transmission radar signal through frequency modulation using the VCO, and receiving a radar signal reflected on a target object; and a signal processing unit calculating the frequency difference between the transmission radar signal and the received radar signal to calculate the distance to the target object, and correcting the calculated distance using a linear mode. The linear model is generated through calculation using real distances to the target object and measurement distances to the target object. Therefore, the present invention can accurately measure the distances with high distance resolution without additional hardware while using the total frequency modulation band of the VCO.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
