The present invention relates to a composition for preventing and treating proteinuria or renal fibrosis containing extracellular superoxide dismutase (EC-SOD) as an active component. More particularly, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition and a food composition for preventing or treating proteinuria or renal fibrosis containing an EC-SOD protein as the active component. A method of the present invention exhibits that EC-SOD reduces main characteristics of proteinuria and renal fibrosis and shows an effect of activating AMPK-FoxO-PGC-1 and Nrf2-Keap1 pathways in cell experiments, thereby being able to be usefully used for manufacturing a therapeutic agent for treating proteinuria and renal fibrosis or food for preventing or alleviating proteinuria and renal fibrosis.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
