Disclosed are a method of enhancing security by applying selective encryption in a long range (LoRa) device in an Internet of things (IoT) environment, and a device for performing the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method of enhancing security comprises the steps of: selecting an encryption technology according to the IoT device; and providing a personalized encryption service for the IoT device by encrypting data of the IoT device with the encryption technology to enhance data security of the IoT device.
