A pulse-width modulation control circuit comprises a first transistor and a signal generator. The first transistor includes a first terminal connected to a power source and a second terminal connected to a first input of a controlled component. The signal generator comprises a first node coupled to a gate of the first transistor. The signal generator is provided to receive a comparison value and a comparison criterion and to compare the comparison value with a counter value based on the comparison criterion. The signal generator transmits a control signal to the gate of the first transistor to produce a pulse edge of the pulse of the pulse-width modulated signal in response to the comparison value meeting the comparison criterion for the counter value.
