Solar powered coolers for smart devices such as smartphones or smart tablets are provided. The cooler may include an upper fan casing, an optional lower fan casing, a smart device holder, and an air passage formed between the upper fan casing and the smart device holder. One or more cooling fans are also provided that suck air into the air passageway substantially along the vertical direction. One or more solar panels allow the cooler to capture solar energy and deliver power to one or more fans or their motors. Solar panels are connected to the motor by one or more connector cables, such as a pair of connector cables. The cooler may cool the entire bottom surface of the smart device using one or more cooling fans.
