TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION SYSTEM AND METHOD REFLECTING CONDITIONAL SPEED LIMIT

The present invention relates to a traffic sign recognition system and method for reflecting conditional speed limit information. The system comprises: a camera sensor recognizing a sign in front of a vehicle; a navigation providing road branching information, road property information, and location information; a cluster providing cluster indicator information; a gateway providing wiper operation information; and an electronic control unit granting a timer by a predetermined distance to determine the validity of a conditional sign upon recognition of the conditional sign, and immediately reflecting a conditional speed limit as a main speed limit when a condition is satisfied before the timer expires. Thus, the traffic sign recognition system can deliver a speed limit suitable for a road condition to a driver more accurately by reflecting the conditional speed limit as the main speed limit when the condition is satisfied by information on the recognized conditional sign upon the recognition of the conditional sign.
