The present invention relates to a flame-retardant sea-island type microfiber. The present invention relates to a sea-island type polyphenylene sulfide microfiber which comprises a sea component containing an alkali-soluble polyester polymer resin and an island component containing a polyphenylene sulfide resin, wherein the sea component is contained in 20-60 wt%, and the island component is contained in 40-80 wt%. The alkali-soluble polyester resin is a copolymer of 0.1-5 wt of polyethylene glycol having a molecular weight of 10000-20000. The polyphenylene sulfide resin is characterized in that an antioxidant selected from a group consisting of a phenol compound, a phosphorus compound, or a mixture thereof is added.
