The present invention relates to a novel CaAIPP1 (Capsicum annuum CaAIRF1 Interacting Protein Phosphatase 1) gene and protein derived from pepper, and a method for enhancing dry stress resistance of a plant using the same. The present invention has been shown to function as a negative regulator of ABA signal transduction of CaAIPP1 protein and to reduce dry stress resistance in the transgenic plant overexpressing the protein. As a result, it has been found that the expression of CaAIPP1 gene It is expected that it can be usefully used for improvement of plant productivity.
