Transfer case having an actuator assembly with a plastic actuator structure and a cam follower. The actuator structure defines a sleeve structure, a fork structure and a plunger holder. The sleeve structure defines a shaft bore extending longitudinally along a control axis. The fork structure extends radially outwardly from the sleeve structure and defines a U-shaped fork member having a pair of prongs disposed about an engagement axis that is parallel and radially offset from the adjustment axis. The plunger holder extends radially outward from the sleeve structure. The cam follower is formed of metal and is partially encapsulated in the plastic of the actuator structure. The cam follower extends from the ram mount along a ram axis that is parallel to the adjustment axis. The ram axis is rotated about the adjusting axis relative to the engaging axis.
