The invention relates to a geolocation device (DISP) configured to: - calculate at least one primary position (POS1) and at least one associated primary parameter (IP1); receiving messages (M) sent by at least one transmitter (DIFF) when the geolocation device (DISP) is in a convergence phase (ph); from a part of said received messages (M), determining a secondary position (POS2) of said mobile object (V1) and at least one associated secondary parameter (IP2); according to a comparison of said at least one secondary parameter (IP2) with at least one threshold (TH), using said secondary position (POS2) as an input parameter for calculating said next primary position (POS1).
