A bracket assembly (10) for mounting a display monitor (12) to a support structure has a back plate (42) configured to mount to the support structure (14); a back plate extension (44, 46) disposed along one side of the back plate (42); a front plate (22) configured to mount to the display monitor (12); a front plate extension (28) disposed along one side of the front plate (22); a contact surface formed by the front plate extension (28) overlapping the back plate extension (44, 46), the contact surface transferring a weight of the monitor (12) to the support structure (14); and a volume at least partially enclosed by the front and back plates (22, 42) and extensions (28, 44, 46) for housing an electronic component (18) between the display monitor (12) and the support structure (14).
