The present invention relates to the technical field of health foods, in particular the use of bilberry or its extract in the preparation of medicines or health foods for treating, delaying or alleviating AGEs-related diseases. The present invention verified through experiments that bilberry extract could inhibit the production of AGEs, thereby helping to delay and alleviate the occurrence and development of various diseases such as diabetes, atherosclerosis, chronic kidney disease, liver disease, and neurodegenerative diseases. The health foods formed by the combination of these compounds could provide a new idea and approach for preventing the occurrence and development of AGEs-related diseases.
