Presented herein are methods and compositions for treating congenital diarrhea disorders (CDDs). The method is an effective amount of C.I. It comprises administering a proanthocyanidin polymer composition derived from Lecleri, preferably clofelemer. Administration of the proanthocyanidin polymer composition can address the secretory diarrhea and associated symptoms caused by CDD and improve the patient's nutritional status, electrolyte balance, hydration, growth and development.
