To provide a portable type smoke detector, a fixed type smoke detector and a method for specifying a smoke generation position capable of promptly, efficiently and certainly performing a work for specifying a generation position of smoke in a monitoring zone.SOLUTION: A smoke generation section in a monitoring zone is specified by a fixed type smoke detector 100, and a smoke detection position is further specified by using a portable type smoke detector 10. In a smoke detector body 12 of the portable type smoke detector, detection sensitivity of smoke can be switched, and the detection sensitivity of the smoke equal to or higher than the detection sensitivity of the smoke in the fixed type smoke detector which detects the smoke in the monitoring zone is used as initial sensitivity when an operation is started. At this time, switching of the detection sensitivity of the smoke does not function, a work is started from the initial sensitivity when the portable type smoke detector is used for specifying the generation position of the smoke while moving in the monitoring zone after the fixed type smoke detector detects generation of the smoke, and the generation position of the smoke is narrowed to be specified by reducing the detection sensitivity when a predetermined smoke detection signal is detected during use for specifying the generation position of the smoke.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 17
