A guide mechanism (30) of a machine tool has moving members (31) which are relatively moved, and first and second rails (141, 142) which are guide members. A hydrostatic guide mechanism (40) and a slide guide mechanism (50) are formed between the moving members (31) and the first and second rails (141, 142). The hydrostatic guide mechanism (40) comprises: a constant pressure chamber (41); a seal part (42) which seals the surroundings of the constant pressure chamber (41); and a supply path (43) which supplies lubricating oil to the constant pressure chamber (41). Thus, the guide mechanism of the machine tool provides high-load capacity, low-friction, and high guide precision.
