To prevent a theft of laundry and protect user's privacy.SOLUTION: The laundry apparatus 100 comprises a housing having an input port through which laundry is inputted, an opening/closing door for opening/closing the input port, a see-through window whose inside is visibly recognized from outside in a state where the opening/closing door closes the input port, a locking part 140 for locking or unlocking the opening/closing door, a shielding part 150 for shielding the laundry inputted in the housing so as not to be visibly recognized through the see-through window, a user information acquisition part 111 for acquiring user information for identifying the user, an authentication part 112 for authenticating the user on the basis of the user information acquired by the user information acquisition part 111, and a control part 110 for controlling the locking part 140 and the shielding part 150 on the basis of an authentication result.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
