PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna switching device, a portable communication terminal, and an antenna switching method capable of preventing a built-in antenna and an external antenna from being frequency switched by detecting an expansion/contraction state of the external antenna without using a switch.SOLUTION: A control part 24 starts wireless communication in a state that a built-in antenna 16 is connected to a wireless communication part 18, and when reception signal intensity RSSIof the built-in antenna 16 is lower than a first threshold Th1, connects an external antenna 17 to the wireless communication part 18, and when reception signal intensity RSSIof the external antenna 17 is higher than a second threshold Th2 larger than the first threshold Th1, determines that the external antenna 17 is pulled out of a casing, and continues the connection of the external antenna 17, and when the reception signal intensity RSSIis lower than the second threshold Th2, determines that the external antenna 17 is stored, and connects the built-in antenna 16 to the wireless communication part 18.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
