PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable users to feel a character displayed on an image display device to be closer to them.SOLUTION: The image display device includes a display unit that displays a character, a conversation unit that allows the character to converse with a user, and a chat unit that allows the character to chat with the user through a communication terminal of the user. The conversation unit selects a next topic on the basis of contents of the conversation performed and contents of the chat performed by the chat unit.
