PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing instrument having a fixing structure of a flexible member by which the flexible member is prevented from being detached from a shaft cylinder irrespective of a usage condition of the flexible member.SOLUTION: A fixing structure of a flexible member for preventing the flexible member 3B from being detached is achieved in a writing instrument 1 having the flexible member 3B attached to either of an end part of a shaft cylinder 8 or a crown part of a cap 2. The flexible member 3B is attached to a connection member 40B, and the connection member 40B with the flexible member 3B attached is locked to an attachment part 10 of the connection member arranged on the writing instrument 1. A through hole 35 is arranged on an attachment shaft 34 of the flexible member 3B. The connection member 40B includes an arm part 42 for sandwiching the attachment shaft 34 from both sides, and a column part 46 inserted in the through hole 35.
