With the help of a digital device, a PC with software performs the following operations: Record the results of the transformation of the image of the character in the shape of a matrix of dimensions depending on the character's pixel system; specify the coordinates (xc, (yc) the centre of gravity (s) of the 1-point system in the binary marker matrix; a radius equal to the maximum distance of the individual points from the centre of gravity of the sign shall be determined and the image within the circle shall be divided into a favourable number of points; each section shall specify the radius of the points located; at the cutting edge,and the set of normalised values for the 0, 1 range of these radii for all segments is the input (R) to the classification; the second input to the classification is the set of normalised values of the radii R'from the range 0, 1 at the boundaries (radii) of the successive segments, occurring for cases where there is more than one point at the border; the classifier shall compare R and R data for patterns and data for identification.
