The invention relates to a device (10) which is designed to detect andevaluate product-specific information of products(12) of the food-processing industry, comprising a transport conveyor (11)which is gap-free on the transport plane for transportingindividualized products (12) in the transport direction T from an inlet end toan outlet end, an x-ray unit (13) with at least one x-raysource (14) and at least one x-ray camera (15) or at least one x-ray detectorfor detecting product-specific information, wherein thex-ray source (14) and the x-ray camera (15) are paired with the transportconveyor (11) such that the products (12) can be guided alongbetween the x-ray source (14) and the x-ray camera (15), and a control unit(16) which is connected to the x-ray unit (13) and is designedto receive and evaluate the product-specific information that is detected bythe x-ray unit (13) and forms a first data set. The inventionis characterized in that at least one optical camera (17) which, in additionto the x-ray unit (13), can be used to detect product-specificinformation of the products (12) transported on the transport conveyor (11) ispaired with the same transport conveyor (11) between theinlet end and the outlet end of the conveyor, and the optical camera (17) isconnected to a control unit (18) which is designed to receiveand evaluate the product-specific information that is detected by the opticalcamera (17) and forms a second data set. The invention alsorelates to a system (29) comprising such a device (10) and to a method forprocessing products (12) of the food-processing industry.
