The invention relates to a method for developing a predictive command that can be implanted in a unit for controlling the trajectory of a motor vehicle. According to the invention, the method comprises, for at least one given speed of movement of the motor vehicle in a traffic lane, steps of: determining a plurality of regulation data, each regulation datum allowing a command to be generated, on the basis of an input datum, such that it satisfies a robustness parameter, and each regulation datum being associated with a particular configuration of use of said motor vehicle; identifying at least one regulation datum among the plurality of determined regulation data, according to a result of a simulation of the trajectory of the motor vehicle on the traffic lane; and using said at least one identified regulation datum for the control of the trajectory of said motor vehicle.
