MEANS OF PROTECTING A BANK CARD HOLDER FROM THEFT OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES

The invention relates to provision of security in carrying out operations in payment systems using bank cards. The technical result is to lower risk for a holder of a bank card in whatever circumstances a bank card is used, such as undesirable transactions initiated by the bank card holder himself/herself or by third parties to whom he/she has voluntarily handed his/her card, as well as fraudulent operations initiated by bad actors in the event that the bank card is compromised or stolen. For controlling parameters of a bank card which enable authorization of operations therewith, a system comprises the following, interconnected so as to be capable of remote data exchange and interaction: a processing center of the bank card issuer, a processing center of the acquirer, a plastic bank card carrier of the bank card holder, and communication means of the bank card holder and his/her authorized representatives, with numbers registered at the processing center of the issuer to allow the exchange of authenticated messages with the center. In the claimed method, an attempt to carry out an unwanted or fraudulent transaction using a bank card of a holder is checked by his/her authorized representatives with whom the processing center of the issuer exchanges authenticated messages via communication means of the authorized representatives to ascertain the advisability of carrying out the transactions requested on the bank card of the bank card holder whom they represent.
