The invention relates to a pedelec (10) having a pedal drive (16), having an electrical assistance motor (14) and having a pedelec control device (20) for controlling the assistance motor (14) which assists the pedal drive (16), wherein the control device (20) is connected to a speed sensor (40) and to a pedal torque sensor (44) and has a pushbutton switch (25, 26) for the incremental variation of the pedal-torque-dependent general degree of assistance, and wherein the control device (20) is designed such that, when the pedelec is at a standstill and the pushbutton switch (25, 26) is actuated, a launch boost function is activated such that, during a launch following the standstill, the degree of assistance is increased beyond the general degree of assistance by a boost increase. Through the dual assignment of the pushbutton switch (25, 26), the outlay on material for the control device is reduced.
