A magnetic magnesium-manganese layered double metal oxide composite material, a preparation and an application. Soluble magnesium and manganese salts are dissolved in water to obtain a composite solution of magnesium and manganese salts. Soluble carbonate and hydroxide are dissolved in water to obtain a composite solution of carbonate and hydroxide. Ferroferric oxide powder is added to the composite solution of carbonate and hydroxide, and ethanol is added to obtain a dispersion solution by ultrasonic dispersion. Then, the composite solution of magnesium salt and manganese salt is added, and the resulting solution is aged, centrifuged, washed, dried, ground and sieved, and calcined at 250-550°C to obtain the magnetic magnesium-manganese layered double metal oxide composite material. The present composite material has strong magnetism for Cd removal, and has the characteristics of high adsorption efficiency, fast adsorption speed and stability. The material may not only efficiently fix Cd, but also may use a magnet to separate and recycle materials.
