Provided is an apparatus and method for setting a menu having diversified option names. The apparatus (200) mainly comprises: an option name category selecting module (210) used for selecting an option name category for setting each option name of the selected category of a menu; a menu setting module (220) used for setting the menu that consists of multiple options, and giving attribute data to multiple options; and a second option name setting module (230) used for selecting an addition and revision option of an existing first option name after entering a second option name setting mode, and setting a second option name to complete the menu having diversified option names. Therefore, the present invention can achieve the setting of a personal customized menu having diversified menu content by using minimal memory resources, and can make various control apparatus achieve the variability, uniqueness, and convenience of the menu content by using the minimal memory resources.
