This self-propelled inspection device 300a, 300b for a metal sheet comprises: a dolly 14 that travels on the surface of a metal sheet, a navigation transmitter 12b or a navigation receiver 12a; an inspection machine 15 that has a flaw detection head 35 having an inspection sensor scanning an inspection region of the metal sheet 10 and an inspection results creation unit 71 creating inspection results; and a control unit that executes control such that the dolly 14 autonomously travels to a target position on the basis of the position of the dolly 14 measured by a position measurement system and the target position for the dolly 14, and executes control such that the flaw detection head 35 scans, wherein the inspection results creation unit 71 creates the inspection results on the basis of inspection information obtained by the inspection sensor and position information pertaining to the flaw detection head 35.
