Provided in the present invention are a method and system for detecting a position change of an electronic price tag, a controller and an electronic price tag. The method comprises: a controller sending a detection mode starting instruction; after receiving the instruction, first electronic price tags sending identity information thereof; second electronic price tags sending, according to the instruction, received identity information of adjacent electronic price tags to the controller; and the controller determining, according to the identity information of the adjacent electronic price tags, and prestored relationships between identity information of the second electronic price tags and the identity information of the adjacent first electronic price tags, position change conditions of the second electronic price tags. According to the above-mentioned technical solution, electronic price tags with position changes can be detected in time on the basis of change conditions of adjacent electronic price tags of the electronic price tags without performing re-positioning on all the electronic price tags in a supermarket, and re-positioning is performed, in a targeted manner, on the electronic price tags with position changes, saving on the power consumption of electronic price tags with unchanged positions and the power consumption of a system, and the service life of price tags is prolonged.
