The present invention relates to a reading room management system for self-directed learning, which can induce users to improve learning habits. The reading room management system comprises: a desk unit which includes an attendance record module recording and transmitting attendance information of a user and a learning time recording module recording and transmitting learning time information of the user, and which is provided in a reading room so that the user performs learning; a user terminal which is provided as a computer or a mobile terminal device; and an operation server which includes a member management module and a learning habit management module. The member management module includes: a member registration unit receiving user information including a learning objective from the user through the user terminal or a separate input device and proceeding with membership registration; and a user information database unit classifying the user according to the learning objective based on user information input through the member registration unit, and storing the user information according to the classification. The learning habit management module includes: an attendance information database unit storing, for each user, the attendance information transmitted from the desk unit; a learning time information database unit storing, for each user, the learning time information transmitted from the desk unit; a learning habit analysis unit statistically analyzing attendance matters and learning times based on the attendance information database unit and the learning time information database unit to generate learning habit analysis information for each user; and a learning habit information providing unit configured to transmit, to the user terminal, the learning habit analysis information generated by the learning habit analysis unit.
