The present invention relates to Fe-S fusion protein of connecting two or more Fe-S proteins with an electron transfer function, novel carbon monoxide:formate oxidoreductase (CFOR) comprising the same, and a method for producing formic acid using the same. According to the present invention, the CFOR is performed in such a way that CO dehydrogenase (CODH) and formate dehydrogenase are subjected to physical and direct bonding through the medium of Fe-S fusion protein derived from Fe-S protein, after which an electron produced from the CODH may be directly transferred to the formate dehydrogenase through Fe-S cluster of Fe-S fusion protein, thereby directly supplying an electron required for a formate dehydrogenase reaction in a conversion from carbon dioxide (CO_2) into formic acid. Thus, it is possible to acquire a formate production reaction with high efficiency without a leakage of electrons produced through an oxidation reaction of carbon monoxide.
